The Hermon Skeet Club was founded in 1967 by about twenty local sportsmen. The original skeet field was set up in a rented farmer's field in Hermon, Maine. The club's initial property acquisition was 115 acres at the present club site. The club's facility, located about ten miles west of Bangor, now includes more than 220 acres. Approximately two hundred members enjoy the 3 skeet fields, 2 trap fields, a 5 stand sporting clays and a "sporting clays in the woods" layout year round. Hermon Skeet Club is a member of the NSCA, the NSSA, the ATA and the NRA. Numerous registered events in skeet, sporting clays and trap are hosted each year. Hermon was the site for both the Maine State Skeet and Sporting Clays Championships in 2004.
Summer hours of operation are from 9:00 AM until approximately 12:00 PM on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Winter hours begin at 10:00 AM. Winter hours only apply to our recreational shooting on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Winter series NSCA tournaments typically kick off by 9am.
The Club is open to the public during these hours.
