Hermon Polar 3 Shoot
– A “Different” Sort of Shoot
Hermon’s Polar Series #3 was held on January 21st.
It was a different shoot in many ways.
Shoot setup was plagued by the threat of snow and the dubious
weather forecasting we have all had to deal with in this “unusual”
winter. The snow stopped
around 11:00 AM on Friday and plowing was done around 1:00 PM.
Our very small crew started setup at 1:00, about when we finish a
normal setup. Half the
course was set Friday afternoon and the other half set starting at first
daylight the morning of the shoot.
Everything was ready by the 9:30 start time but there was little
time to “tweak” the target.
A normal final target evaluation would have made some presentation
closer/higher/ slower or hopefully easier.
The end result was a difficult shoot with several presentations
we have never used before.
